Columbia, South Carolina, Classification Title: Admissions Senior Director College/Division: Enrollment Management Department: EM Undergraduate Admissions Advertised Salary Range: $87,231 – $109,039 Advertised Job Summary: The Director for Marketing and Special Events will play a critical senior-level leadership role within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This position will be a key member in the senior leadership team comprising the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Dean of Admissions, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Executive Director of Admissions, Director of Operations and Technology, Director of Recruitment, Director of the Visitor Center and several Associate Directors. The Director of Marketing and Special Events is responsible for leading 3-4 director-level staff who manage strategy, personnel, budget and daily operations related to to marketing, marketing research, special events, enrollment communication and marketing technologies. The Director will provide high-level guidance, direction, and management for department-wide planning and implementation of marketing efforts (including marketing and market research) and enrollment communication. They will utilize their creativity, in conjunction with research, data and budget analysis, to provide a solid strategy and foundational planning to guide and inform the department to ensure that recruitment and enrollment goals are met. The Director will work closely with parents, students, counselors and school officials, campus partners, academic departments and external constituents to meet the short- and long-term goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This position will also represent the office by serving on University committees and taking an active role in professional organizations. They may also act in the absence of the Executive Director. This position requires occasional travel and some evening and weekend work. Advertised Minimum Qualifications : Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience, including some prior management experience. Position requires travel and some evening and weekend work. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
