Nationwide, Job Description: Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Athletics Marketing Coordinator position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).   The Athletics Marketing Coordinator assists the Assistant Director of Athletics, Marketing & Fan Engagement with increasing the overall visibility of Brown Athletics through marketing, promotions, and sales efforts. Job duties include, but are not limited to: ⢠Developing game-day promotions. ⢠Developing game-day public address scripts. ⢠Assist with coordinating student workers. ⢠Assist with planning & coordinating outside group attendance at athletic events. ⢠Collaborating with Strategic Communications to create and update content/messaging for official social media accounts, video boards, website, and email blasts. ⢠Developing and implementing marketing plans. ⢠Identifying and presenting potential new customers. Entry into the candidate pool requires the following: Education and Experience ⢠Bachelorâ™s degree ⢠One (1) to two (2) yearsâ™ experience in marketing, promotions, and/or ticket sales Job Competencies ⢠Strong planning and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. ⢠Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software and other requisite programs. ⢠Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. ⢠Ability to demonstrate a strong client service orientation; should be extremely customer focused on both internal and external customers and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. ⢠Must be flexible with a high sense of accountability and responsibility. ⢠Willingness to be available on weekends or evenings when/if necessary. ⢠Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community. ⢠Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to compliance with, NCAA, ECAC, Ivy and University rules and regulations regarding marketing/ticketing.  All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
