Athens, Ohio, Job Description: The Assistant Manager, Culinary Services Marketing & Design is responsible for helping to plan, develop, and implement a variety of Culinary Services communication and marketing efforts for a wide audience. This includes correspondence of email campaigns, online surveys and multimedia distribution through a variety of digital communications tools, as well as original graphic designs, photography and multimedia as needed to include in digital and print marketing campaigns. Creates original content for and maintains Culinary Services-wide websites, assists in the creation, transition and management of web content to Drupal CMS , assists in creating and posting content to RiseVision, OHIO Eats App, and implements new technologies and online tools as they emerge and are adopted. Assists in the creation and implementation of social media content and strategies, and participates in the planning of those strategies as needed. Monitors social media, electronic comments and departmental email accounts, responding to customer feedback as warranted. Helps to plan, develop, and implement a variety of Culinary Services communication for a wide audience in the online and digital space. This includes broadcast correspondence of email campaigns, online surveys and multimedia distribution through a variety of digital communications tools, as well as original graphic designs, photography and multimedia as needed to include in digital and print marketing campaigns. Assists with overseeing and mentoring departmental marketing and graphic design team consisting of student employees and intern staff to develop original artwork, collateral layouts and electronic pieces highlighting Culinary Services’ service offerings, promotions, departmental commitments and vision strategies – in line with University Communications and Marketing brand guidelines. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Design/VisComm or other relevant degree. 1-year relevant experience or equivalent of education and experience. Experience in CMS , Social Media Management Systems, Proficient in photography, video and multimedia creation. Must have a working knowledge of digital concepts, practices and procedures to inform tactical decisions regarding the content and communication of messages online, in digital formats and on social media. Must be able to make independent decisions regarding daily time management and prioritization of messaging for Culinary Services. Must make strategic decisions regarding online communication and marketing plans, positions and messaging and provide final editing decisions and final brand standard approval. Must be able to prioritize conflicting deadline requests and accommodate urgent messaging needs. Must be able to interpret ambiguous client requests, research missing pieces, and edit copy to ensure consistent distribution of high-quality communication pieces.
